How many times a day do you ask your students to pay attention? If your class is anything like all other classes, you're probably thinking ALL THE TIME!!! (If not, tell me your secret:) Well, I got tired of telling my kids all day, every day to pay attention. Then, I saw this inspirational quote and loved it!!! I immediately made a poster and hung it in my classroom. We recite the quote every morning, after announcements. It has become our class motto.
Then, I realized that we can't just chant it, we need to act on it!! So, here come the exit tickets:) At the end of the day, everyone writes one thing they learned. They are not allowed to write, "I learned how to add." They have to be specific..."I learned that when you add two numbers, you have a sum."
It has been great! It's fun to see what they learned and what stood out to them throughout the day. Some kids even ask, "Can I write more than one thing?!?!" Of course you can!!
I hope you can use this in your class and your students are as successful as mine have been.
I would love to hear your feedback...it's FREE!!!
