What would Marco Polo send to his Instagram followers? What would Leonardo Da Vinci, or Thomas Jefferson post? For Language Arts, what would Katnis or Peeta from the Hunger Games be posting? This is a simple, fun and engaging way to get students familiar with one of the most popular social marketing sites on the web without needing computers.

Common Core writing aligned. In this assignment, students will create a picture and "post comments" based on what they have learned about a character or figure in class. Students write who would have "liked" the photo and his/her relationship to the figure. Lastly, students "post" #hashtag character traits for the figure that they are required to support with quoted evidence from the text OR by what they have learned in class (the assignment has 2 template options based on teacher needs/resources). This assignment would work great for History, English Language Arts or Science.
