Aligned to 2.G.3, but also a prefect hands-on preassessment or review activity for Third Grade fractions.
Barrier games are played by pairs of students. Partner 1 describes items or criteria to Partner 2 so that when the barrier between them is removed, Partner 1's board looks identical to Partner 2's.
This set contains three differentiated barrier games that address the same standard.
Game A: Partner 2 locates the fractional part that Partner 1 describes.
Game B: Partner 2 locates a shape divided into the number of parts described by Partner 1. Partner 2 then colors parts of the shape as described by Partner 1.
Game C: Partner 2 places fraction cards on his/her game board in the exact place that Partner 1 describes.
