Are you looking for a fun and engaging way to practice the syllables -y and -ly? We call them "instant syllables" in our classrooms. Our goal is that kids see them, recognize them, and know how to read them in an instant!
This game pack includes five games to help your students practice reading words with the –y and –ly instant syllables.
Includes one “I have…who has…?” game and two Connect Four game boards for -ly.
Includes one “I have…who has…?” game and one Connect Four game board for –y.
Think "I have...who has...?" games can only be used whole-group? Think again! My students love playing them in small groups, during centers, and they are one of my most popular morning tubs!
Connect Four games are played in pairs or groups of three. If you want the whole class to practice at the same time, just print off more game boards!
Your students will love these versatile games. See the preview for more suggestions for use and variations.
*Current customers the -y games were formerly listed as "Long E spelled -y and -ey." In this file, we replaced the -ey words with -y words for more targeted practice with the -y instant syllable.
