As you review incoming test scores and identify student needs, the question of “What next?” continues to arise. I have your solution - a list of instructional ideas to use for students who are in need of additional help. I referenced a reputable resource for instructional ideas to use in the classroom with students experiencing difficulty in comprehension, fluency, and word recognition. Please look for these three free downloads in my store.
The ideas come from two texts, both written by Tim Rasinski and Nancy Padak. Tim Rasinski is well known in the field of education for his work with fluency and word study. Nancy Padak focuses her studies on working with struggling readers. These instructional ideas can be adapted for use during guided reading, centers, small group, whole group, or one-on-one instruction. The lists include ideas for use with students in grades one through eight, so you will find a variety of ideas to differentiate for all of your students. Happy teaching!
