Quartets is a card game, similar to Go Fish. It is played with three or more players, with the aim to win all the quartets (sets of four).
In this case, the quartets are based upon instrument families, and in particular, Strings, Woodwinds, Percussion, Small Percussion, Brass, and Keyboards.
The cards are shuffled and dealt evenly between all the players and the cards get held face up in a players hand. The player to the dealer's left starts by asking another player if they had a certain card (example, The Violin) which would help the player create a quartet. If the player does have the card, then they hand it over. If the player doesn't, then it becomes his/her turn to ask.
When a quartet is created, or a complete quart was dealt to a player at the beginning of the game, then the cards creating the quart are placed in front of the player.
The game ends when all the quartets have been created. The winner is the person with the most quartets.
Cards are to be printed from PowerPoint. When printing, select the option of printing 4 cards per page and print in color, double sided. By doing so, each page will be printed with 4 cards, with the backs of the cards printed on the opposite side of the page. Once laminated, these cards can be used indefinitely if treated with care.
