"When I saw the activity I was a little skeptic in using it but then I thought what would it hurt to use it in reenforcing integers operation, plus incorporating a project in the mix. It turn out to be great. I will use it for the following school year."

Description

This project can be in addition to notes and practice, an alternative to an end of unit assessment, or given to students who pre-tested out of the unit as an alternate activity. They are asked to create a new cereal and modify the box to demonstrate their knowledge of integer operations both numerically and through real-world application. A rubric is included. This project addresses Common Core Standard 7.NS.A.1, 7.NS.A.2, and 7.NS.A.3.

I used this for a project grade with my class we took one day to cover the cereal box and start decorating it. Then I had them take it home and do the rest of the project over the next few days. I will definately use it again next year. Students had so much fun showing off their designs and the clever names for their cereals.

Loved this resource to reinforce the rules for integers. I gave this to students in my advanced 7th grade class.

Hello fellow educator! Although it's been over six years since I bought this resource but I'd like to take a moment and thank you for making it. Prior to the pandemic, I taught an ESE self-contained 5th grade class. They were a great bunch of kiddos but they were a very low performing class. I worked endlessly coming up with games, projects, graphic organizers and just a plethora of material to help close this class' learning gap. By the end of each day I was drained and still had to help my three daughters with their school work. Your resource was one of the many resources that helped me get through a very challenging year. Even though this review comes in late please know that I'm forever thankful. Have a great 2020- 2023 school year!

I used this as an extension activity for my students who rocked the integer section. It let me have a little more one on one time with other students. We displayed the cereal boxes in our room and each student who created one got to show it off and tell us about it.
