This set of 28 task cards can be used to help your students reinforce and extend their knowledge of integer operations. The set includes problems using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, absolute value, and modeling integer problems. Each card has one task on it to help keep students motivated and help you to differentiate instruction. In this set, the even numbered problems are generally more challenging than the odd numbered cards. The final four questions are the most difficult and could be used as challenge questions. All task cards in this set are open response. The answer key is given in two formats: 1) in task card form with the answer in red; and 2) as an answer key on the student answer sheet. Printing and laminating the task cards will help to keep your copy costs down. If you want students to self-check their work, I suggest you laminate the answer cards, cut them out, and use a ring to hold the set together. Recipe boxes are another great way to keep your task cards together.
Task cards can be used with individual students to target specific skills or as enrichment; in pairs or small groups using guided activities or seat work; or with the whole class using it as a game or learning stations. I hope you enjoy this set of task cards for years to come.
