This is an integrated math, ELA, and social studies Economics unit. It covers the topics of goods, services, producers, consumers, and resources. For math it covers money, problem solving, and number and operations math standards.
My 2nd graders LOVED this project! We did this project second semester after they had been working with money for a while. The business project sheets are generic so you can differentiate them however you see fit.
After we learned about the social studies ideas, we put them to use. They created their own businesses and ran them! Not only were they learning the standards, they were applying them to REAL LIFE situations.
This unit includes:
--A complete math project where students create and run their own businesses.
--Graphic organizers for students to use while shopping at the businesses.
--Graphs to compare business success.
--Social Studies/ELA activities on the topics of goods, services, producers, consumers, and types of resources. (reading passages, sorting activities, and foldables.)
