Integrated Performance Assessment (IPA)
Sports and Sports Equipment
An IPA is an assessment tool that uses an AUTHENTIC text in the target language and requires students to demonstrate interpretive (reading), interpersonal (speaking), and presentational (writing) skills based on the authentic text.
This particular IPA uses an advertisement from a department store in Spain about sports equipment.
Target Group: Spanish I, Middle or High School, ages 13-18
Unit: Sports and Sports Equipment. Vocabulary used in the productive tasks include “jugar”, “gustar”, “necesitar”, “ser”, and a variety of adjectives. Students should also be familiar with sports and sport equipment vocabulary in Spanish.
