As teachers, we want to make every single part of our classroom as meaningful as possible in order to maximize learning opportunities for students. Instead of the traditional ABC line, I decided to create an interactive version that would be more meaningful to students.
How to Make This Product Interactive
Simply print and display somewhere in your classroom that is accessible to students (i.e. not above the whiteboard where students cannot reach.) Give students the task of finding book titles that begin with each letter of the alphabet and record the names in the book outlines. This can be done all at once, as soon as you hang the ABC line, or throughout the year as students read different books. This way, students are actively involved in the display and have more ownership of it.
