Opposites can be tricky for kids to learn but they important in language and vocabulary development! This activity helps kids learn basic antonyms by matching visual representations of these oh so different words.

Learning antonyms is a necessary step of acquisition in the Language Processing Hierarchy. This activity helps students begin to learn this foundational concepts they may be struggling with.

Included in this resource are two interactive antonym sets. Students turn the pages and match the images of the opposites. The following opposites are targeted in this activity:

- clean, messy
- old, new
- quiet, noisy
- weak, strong
- awake, asleep
- closed, open
- hot, cold
- light, dark
