A simple way to celebrate birthdays in the primary grades!
I prep these at the beginning of the year by photocopying the crown template on coloured card stock and the headband template onto tag paper (cream coloured card stock). Then I cut them out and tape a headband template on each side (one blank and one with the sentence) of the crown and store them flat until I'm ready to use them.
When it's a students birthday I pull out a crown and write their name. We sing them the happy birthday song. Then he/she get's to pick a birthday pencil. At the end the student gets a basket of stickers and he/she can put stickers that correspond to his/her new age in the box on the headband.
