For many children, the annual shopping trip to get school supplies is an exciting ritual. My oldest son said it was the only good thing about going back to school. This interactive book celebrates the shopping trip and packing the backpack for the school year. This is a book for non-readers and readers alike. The predictable and repetitive sentences allow for easy comprehension and sentence formulation when retelling.
We start with a backpack and then add items to the backpack. Each page presents a new item to add to the backpack while also reviewing what is already in the backpack. This creates the opportunity to produce longer and more complex utterances.
There are 15 pages in the story including 2 activity pages. Picture images, from My Cute Graphics, are also provided.
