Want a fun way to practice sentence skills and celebrate the season?
This file includes the following:
Bulletin Board Border
Bulletin Board Header Letters
Use the images in the START HERE document to see how to set up all your items on your bulletin board, or use a tri-fold board like I did for those classrooms that have little to no extra bulletin board space. You will also need 2 googly eyes, a large piece of brown construction paper, orange scrap paper, and twine for the lettering.
How to Use:
Once you have your board set up, you can either use your interactive bulletin board as a center or as a whole group activity at the beginning of reading or for morning work.
Students will get an empty answer sheet at the beginning of the week. Each day, you will flip to the corresponding question, and students will write their answer down. Preferably, this is not a graded assignment, but a chance for them to see what they already know or as a review.
Students will practice writing sentences on the provided worksheet, then trace their hand, cut out, and add to the board. It can be done as a morning activity, center, or whole class assignment. Discussions about proper sentence structure (capitals, complete sentences, and punctuation), as well as discussions about what being thankful means can occur in the same lesson!
