This interactive activity will help your young students (preschool-2nd grade) add descriptive words to their sentences.
This packet includes charts that feature two descriptive words across the top. Students will sort each item into the correct categories and produce the sentence that is provided on the bottom of the chart. Once students become adept at producing the predictable sentences, they can create other sentences.
Set Up: Print and laminate the charts (pg. 3-12). Attach at the top with binder rings. Print, laminate, and cut out the interactive pieces (pg. 13-17). These pieces can be stored on the color coded mats (print pg. 13-17 twice) or on the charts themselves. Each chart has a different color heading; the interactive pieces have colored outlines that correspond to the headings. This will make it easy to sort and store after sessions.
