Product Description

This resource is a Google Form and Doc linked to an interactive gallery on Nubian art and culture.

Nubia, also known as Kush, was one of the great kingdoms of ancient Africa. Its culture and religion were influenced heavily by Egypt. The kingdom was divided into two regions, Lower Nubia and Southern Nubia. The name Nubia means “land of gold.”  

Students will analyze the interactive gallery of four examples of Nubian art and culture. Student will answer the 9 reading comprehension questions on the form. Next, students will answer the 1 short answer question on the doc. This activity has worked very well in pairs. This is an excellent enrichment activity. 

Student will analyze the following maps:

  • Egyptian painting (Nubian Tribute to the Egyptian King Tutankhamen)
  • Red Lion of Amenhotep III
  • Ceramic Jar Meroitic Phase IV 
  • Nubian God Amun 

This product is editable and the questions and answer options have been shuffled.
