Product Description

This resource is a Google Form and Doc linked to an interactive image on the Ottoman Empire under Suleiman the Magnificent.

The Ottoman empire flourished under Suleiman the Magnificent. He not only expanded the territories of the empire, but he also strengthened government and the justice system. The arts and culture blossomed along with a stable society, increased trade, and a healthy economy.  

Students will analyze the interactive image of Suleiman and his court to learn about Ottoman society. Students will answer the 10 reading comprehension questions and one grid on the form. Next, students will answer the 1 short answer question and one graphic organizer on the doc. This activity has worked very well in pairs. This is an excellent enrichment activity. 

Student will analyze the following maps:

  • Gunpowder
  • Power structure under the Sultans
  • Social class
  • Art and Architecture
  • Trade

This product is editable and the questions and answer options have been shuffled.
