This package includes parts of speech cards, pockets (for interactive journals), recording sheets and answer keys. I use my Interactive Language Journal to introduce new language concepts, Smartboard activities to engage students in learning language concepts, my Daily Language Review packets to reinforce language concepts daily, and this package to reinforce concepts in whole group and in Word Work Center. I created this product because I wanted more interactive language practice for students.
At least 3 ways of implementing this product:
1. When you are studying the specific part of speech, copy the parts of speech cards (laminate if you prefer) for students to practice in partners. Copy a class set of recording sheets. Have students work in partners during whole group to complete the set.
2. When you are studying the specific part of speech, copy the parts of speech cards sheet (one for each student), the pocket sheet (there are 4 pockets on one sheet), and a class set of recording sheets. Students can work independently or with a partner using their parts of speech cards. Have students glue the pocket in their interactive language journal and place the cards in the pocket when they have finished. (They can even draw
pictures to represent the text on the parts of speech cards). They can fold the recording sheet to place in the pocket (in their journal), or glue the recording sheet in interactive journals to reference throughout the year.
3. Follow the same steps as in number 2, except place materials at the Word Work center for students to complete in groups. Implementation in interactive language journal can also be the same as in number 2.
**When the cards are stored in journals, students can refer back to these to write the words on the cards in new sentences as an extension! This is especially helpful when students struggle with a specific concept!**
