Ever have trouble figuring out which words, which roots, which homophones to teach? Struggle to fit these types of language instruction into your teaching day? I have the answer. I’ve done all the work of collecting the parts and words to teach and put them into a bulletin board set. This file contains the pieces to create an Interactive Language Bulletin board that you add to all year, discuss with students, and work with them to create.
The file includes bulletin board headings for four categories:
Part I: Vocabulary
Part 2: Roots and Parts (Roots, Suffixes, Prefixes)
Part 3: Parts of Speech
Part 4: Meaning (includes homophones, homonyms, homographs, and word studies)
There are word strips to cut out giving all the roots, prefixes, and suffixes you need to teach, with examples. There are word strips with definitions for each part of speech, and examples of each part of speech on cards for sorting. There are strips with examples of all the homophones, homonyms, and homographs, along with sample sentences. There are also word strips to begin word studies as well, plus blank strips to add in your own words!
I spend about 5 minutes each morning reviewing this bulletin board with kids, adding new words, etc...It doesn’t take much time, but it’s a great visual resource and spiral review in my classroom
