Are you ready for a fun interactive group game that will teach your students about REAL LIFE? I will emphasize INTERACTIVE! The students will be engaging in hands-on activities, interacting with each other, learning about careers, managing their money, counting money, buying or renting homes, and learning many more financial dynamics. They will make choices along the way and will be learning from their choices. This may sound like a class for high school students or adults, but rest assured, it is designed for all students to grasp a basic understanding of life and finances and making choices. Be prepared for your students to have a great time and learn a lot! This game is a great tool for Cooperative Learning Centers and homeschooling.
Duration: This game is to be played over 8-11 days/sessions. Each session will take approximately 1 hour. It may take longer if you have a large class size. There is room for some flexibility in the schedule.
Group play: There are seven careers available. If you have more than seven students, you can divide them into communities with 7 students in each community. Each student will be issued a career, salary amount, a vehicle, and $5,000 to start. At each session, the students will be issued a task card with interactive activities to complete during the session. They will record all transactions in their ledgers and keep it balanced. They will interact with each other within their community and develop real life skills. See preview page for the topics covered. The students will encounter real life experiences(i.e. car accidents, doctor visits, college expenses) and choices (buy vs. rent, purchase insurance or not, save or spend money) throughout the game.
Volunteers: You will need 2-3 volunteers to help especially if you are using this for a larger class.
Prep: There is a bit of prep work that needs to be done ahead of time. Printing, cutting, gathering supplies, and organizing.
