This unit includes:
1. Interactive Mini Anchor Chart-
For students to activate prior knowledge,
create meaningful anchor charts that
go along with the sound of the week.
These are extremely resourceful as
an active word wall.
2. Interactive Story- Visualizing is
a skill many students struggle with.
Read the short story to students and
have them visualize a mental picture
using words from the text and draw a
picture of what they visualized. Then
conduct a second read, this time focusing
on the sound of the week words
embedded in the story. (You can have students
circle or highlight sound of the week words.)
