Mindful Learning Through the Christmas Season and Beyond...
This interactive Christmas notebook is perfect for teaching students about mindfulness and kindness over the Christmas season. The lessons will apply beyond the Christmas season as students learn about mindfulness, gratitude, recognizing stress and finding ways to relax.
All of these lessons come together in one resource with a lovely Christmas theme.
If you already own my Interactive Mindful Notebook, you can just suspend the regular lessons and insert these ones. If you don't, this is a perfect stand alone resource.
In this set, students in grades 1-5 can learn about and explore in a collaborative environment the following topics:
★ What is Mindfulness? (This page is a duplicate from my Interactive Mindful Notebook for those that do not own that one.)
★ All About Giving:
This set of lessons starts with students identifying gifts that they have received and the ones that they liked the best. Then, the lesson moves into making personal connections about where they were and who was there or who gave them the gift. Here they pick their favorite memory behind the gift. This is to show students the memory behind the gift is often what makes the gift meaningful.
★ Ways of Giving:
What are some ways to give that don't involve tangible items?
★ Seeing the Light in Others
Students will identify 3 people in their life who they love and identify one thing that they could "give" that would make that person smile. (ie. the gift of time)
★ Thank Outside the Box:
Identifying ways to acknowledge gifts and special acts of kindness that others do for you. (Often this can be uncomfortable so it is good to learn different responses.)
★ Ways to Relax:
Students learn to recognize how busy the season is and how it can be stressful or make them or others excitable. They will identify ways that they can be aware and self regulate.
★ Random Acts of Kindness:
Students will plan to do some nice things for others during the Christmas season.
★ Sensing Kindness:
Students will identify ways they hear kindness, see kindness and feel kindness in their heart.
This is an interactive notebooks. It is interactive in 2 ways:
→ The teacher teaches mini lessons (included) and the students interact with each other in collaborative pairs or groups.
→ Students cut, paste and complete the activities with many different styles of flaps and shapes.
