Product Description

This resource is a Google Form and Doc linked to an interactive map on the growth of Russia from 1300 to 1584.

Beginning in 1300, powerful princes in Moscow began to rally their countrymen to take back valuable territories held by the Mongols. Over the next 300 years, Russia would grow into a powerful nation.

Students will analyze the interactive map. Then complete the 8 reading comprehension questions on the form. Next, students will answer the 2 short answer questions on the doc. This activity has worked very well in pairs. This is an excellent enrichment activity. 

Students will learn about:

  • Mongol Golden Horde
  • Moscow
  • Battle at Kulikovo
  • Ivan III, known as "Ivan the Great"
  • Ivan IV, known as "Ivan the Terrible"

This product is editable and the questions and answer options have been shuffled.
