This product is a Google form and doc linked to an interactive map on the Public Works Administration (PWA) and the Works Progress Administration (WPA) projects during The Great Depression era.
The Public Works Administration (PWA) and the Works Progress Administration (WPA) employed millions of jobless Americans during the Great Depression. Together, these agencies built schools, hospitals, parks, dams, and libraries as well as sewer lines, roads, and highways.
Three links to Google Earth are inserted into the interactive map so students can explore the areas of the projects. Then, students can answer the 8 reading comprehension questions and one grid on the form. Next, students will answer the 3 short answer questions on the doc. This activity has worked very well in pairs using two devices. This product is an excellent enrichment activity.
