This is a diagram of parallel lines cut by a transversal and the angles that are created. It is inside of a 3d box to give students a visual. I ask them to list angles inside the box and outside. Then on alternate sides of the transversal and same sides. It introduces the vocabulary of the transversal and the symbol for parallel lines.
The second part builds on that by asking them to categorize the angles based on the name and location, describe them, and identify the relationship between them.
