This is a fantastic tool to use to get kids thinking about fractions. Students will need to cut and glue together this foldable. Assembly is easy. Use the black tabs at the top of each page to glue the pages together. Students can also add color to help distinguish between the different fractions like I did in the pictures.
When the foldable is complete, students will have a model that shows examples of fractions from one whole through eighths. The model can easily be glued right into an interactive notebook. Or, it can be stored in a folder as an accessible tool. This foldable can be used in several ways.
1. to introduce fractions as parts of a whole
2. to show the relationship between denominators and the size of pieces of a whole
3. to find and model equivalent fractions
