Interactive notebooks are a personalized textbook , or a working portfolio of notes, classwork, even quizzes all in one spot!
Are you tired of hearing the words: “I can’t remember what we did yesterday? I left it at home. I was gone yesterday, what did I miss? “ Well, those days are gone! If you are using an interactive notebook in your classroom, students will have an entire portfolio to use and help them throughout the year. Interactive notebooks are great organizational tools and perfect to show parents all of the work done in your class!
Tips for an Interactive notebook:
-Date and number each page
-Keep a Table of contents
-Don’t allow doodling that doesn’t relate to notes
-Notebook should only be used in a specific class
-No tearing out pages!
-Write title and author at the top of each page.
------Left side belongs to students—diagrams, cartoons, drawings, poems, foldables, etc.
------Right side belongs to teacher– teacher guided notes, comments to students, graded tests.

Simple print the story map you want, give to student and allow him or her to glue, staple or tape into their interactive notebook and fill out.
