Students cover the beginning: What is the setting, who are the main characters. Take notes on How the story starts or opens, who the main characters are and what the setting is.
In the middle they cover: What is the problem the characters are having, What is the problem, how do the characters react to the problem.
In the end: How did the characters change at the end of the story, how were the characters able to solve the problem, what was the solution to the problem, and how had the characters changed?
Students write or illustrate the beginning, middle, and end of the sotyr.
