This is an Interactive Reading Notebook/Journal which is used with a composition book. Students use this to take notes, journal to text they have read, and learn and practice 4th grade CCSS standards for reading and informational text.
(Note...This is not just a notebook for taking notes. This product gives you and your students the ability to practice a CCSS skill more than one time.)
I use this to model my reading instruction for my students, for their independent work and even assessment. I choose text that is at grade level for my students and can be used with a standard, we read together, complete the work together and they cut and glue their product into their book. Eventually they do this on their own through the gradual release method of instruction. It is for 4th grade students and is aligned to CCSS Reading Literature and Informational Text. All foldables/organizers have CCSS standards written on the page or in the organizer. It contains the following material:
Directions for Journal Assembly and pictures
Ways to use the foldables/organizers and pictures
How I use the material in my classroom
Literature Response Guidelines/Goal Setting
Rubric… 4 points based on the best practices of Robert Marzano.
Rubrics that can be copied

List of useful websites that have articles, stories, and poems
15 + pages of Readers Task Cards that focus on Reading Strategies and Response Questions based on CCSS covering Key Ideas and Details and Craft and Structure. Some repeat on a page so you don’t have to make numerous copies.
