**There are lots of great interactive reading notebooks out there for comprehension strategies, but none like this!!**
Specifically focused on the basic reading and discussion behaviors you teach when launching reading in the fall! Also great for revisiting behaviors throughout the year or after vacations and breaks.
The Spanish/English lessons included are:
1. Sharing a Reading Memory
2. Why is it important to read every day?
3. Different ways to read a book
4. "Star" Reader Behaviors
5. Where should I sit when reading?
6. Taking Care of our Classroom Library
7. Choosing a good-fit book (2 lessons)
8. Teacher/Student Jobs
9. What a Good Listener Looks Like and Sounds Like
10. Buzzing about Books
11. Partner Reading
There is an outline of lessons to follow so you know exactly what you and the students should be doing each day to launch a great year of reading! (Check out the preview for a sample). Just add your classroom library and student book bins.
These lessons complement any language arts model you use, such as Reader's Workshop, Daily Five, or Literacy Centers. I have read and taught with the 2 Sisters and Lucy Calkins' frameworks for many years and taken the most powerful lessons from each.
Students love making the fun foldables and coloring the clipart, and having their own mini anchor charts in their interactive notebooks really makes the learning stick! Students enjoy looking back in their interactive notebooks and are so proud of their work.
This product includes:
*An outline of launching lessons including suggested teacher and student actions for each day
*Title pages with topic/objective to glue at the top of the notebook page
*Images, clipart, and cutouts necessary to complete each page
*Photos of each of the pages completed as a suggestion/starting point for you
Your students will need:
*A composition or other sized notebook
*Fine Point markers
I hope this product helps you kick off a great year of student reading and book discussion!
