I developed this fun and interactive powerpoint story to help teach place value to my first and second grade students. Teaching place value can be quite difficult so I am always trying to find a variety of ways to cover this standard.
This activity is broken down into two parts. This is part one and covers ones and tens. Part two covers ones, tens, and hundreds.
The intention of this lesson is for teachers to display these slides on their SmartBoards or other projection devices. Students will be working either independently or in teams with their own place value charts to follow along with the story.
I offer a wide variety of math centers and worksheets designed to strengthen and improve the math skills of all students from Kindergarten through 5th grade. Each of the programs below was developed in order to provide adequate practice on a number of math concepts in order to allow students to master those standards.
