Do you love using poems in your class as much as I do? I introduce a new poem to my students each Monday. We have fun tracking print (pointing to the words as we read), finding certain letters/words, listen for rhyming words, count the number of letters in different words, and lots more! Once my students are familiar with the poem, I introduce this interactive poem builder pocket chart center.

Here's how it works:
- to assemble this pack simply print the poem and cards and laminate for durability
- students take the word cards matching the poem (which I keep hanging in a Ziploc bag nearby) and place them in the pocket chart, building the poem word by word
- they can track the print once completed by using a pointer when reading

Storing this center is easy! Simply place everything in a page protector and keep in a binder. I have added a small icon that corresponds to each poem in the top right corner in case any get mixed up.

Word Count:
Title: 3
Poem: 28
