This is a powerpoint presentation that shows creative portraits where poeple have drawn something creative and inserted themselves into the portrait as a photograph. This was designed to be an extra activity for students who are done early, or at the end of the year or before holidays when you need something fun and interactive to work on, but it doesn't have to be taken too seriously.
The powerpoint includes several slides with examples of these portrait drawings, and also 4 slides that show samples of children who were photographed with "wings" for the non-profit organisation project Hope art, which also shows students that even something that starts out as something silly can be used for greater purposes.
This would be suitable for many grades, but would be easier with high school and Jr. highs because they can use the Cameras on their phones to take pictures.
The sample pictures included were drawn on chalkboards, but students could draw their images on a whiteboard, chalkboard, or use large sections of paper(which is what I've done in my classroom).
It could be adapted to fit with social studies, ela , or history units if students were to design something around characters, storylines, or history.
