    • Interactive Read Aloud PLANNER for 2 or 3 complete, color-coded interactive read alouds.

→ First Read: The first read will get your students acquainted with the book, allow them to practice their predicting skills, and help them learn the sequence of the story.

→ Second Read: The second read is more focused on Common Core Skills. Because this is the second time they have read it, they are more able to understand the characters, setting, and structure of the book.

→ Third Read (not included with every resource): The third read has a focus on reading like a writer.

    • Color-Coded Sticky note printables for each read aloud.

    • Color-Coded Print & cut notes for easy on-the-go prep.

    • Tips for printing on sticky notes with a link to a blog post with step-by-step directions.

    • Sticky note template to use when printing.

    • Vocabulary cards, definition and worksheet.

    • Mini-charts to use for brainstorming, predicting and connecting.

    • Reading connections/retelling worksheets.

    • Additional Activities

Please note: While many of the questions and discussion points are common core aligned, each read aloud does not focus on any one specific skill. Most of my read alouds focus on several key skills vital for kinder, first and second grade readers. These skills include: predicting, retelling, connecting, identifying key story elements and answering questions based on the text and illustrations.

These Interactive Read Alouds are intended for kindergarten through second grades.

These are great resources for teaching and enhancing the oral language of my students. Interactive read alouds are an integral part of any balanced literacy program.
