Interactive Read Aloud – Ready to Go!
These are questions for your Interactive Read Alouds of the books, “Odd Velvet” by Mary Whitcomb, and “Houdini the Amazing Caterpillar” by Janet Pedersen.
I pre-read the books and then created questions for students to think about and answer during your Interactive Read Aloud. You’ll see that for some questions you can call on random students to answer aloud, other questions will require partner discussion questions, and others will require students to jot down their thinking.
These questions can be printed directly onto 3x3 Post-its. Then, you can stick each question directly onto its corresponding page in the book.
Interactive Read Aloud is such a great way to help teach your students to be active thinkers while reading. I hope these discussion points can enrich your discussions!
