In my classroom lately I have rediscovered the power of the Read Aloud time during our school day. Our class has laughed, gasped, clapped, questioned, and even cried together during our read aloud. The read aloud allows us to model our comprehension for students while engaging them in deeper conversations about stories. I hope you find this resource made for use with Eve Bunting’s stories helpful as you encourage your readers to fall in love with the craft of authors and equip them with tools to think deeply about texts.
Titles Included (all written by Eve Bunting):
"A Day's Work"
"One Green Apple"
"The Wednesday Surprise"
"A Train to Somewhere"
*Discussion sentence frames to display
*Read aloud questions with page numbers included
*Two shades of meaning for vocabulary development for each story
*Quick written response to monitor comprehension
*Quick retell response for differentiation
