This 71 page packet is a large collection of fifty-six reading journal response templates. Students complete, cut out, and glue these journal templates into their reading notebooks. It includes several pages for the teacher that explains the different activities, and gives suggestions on how to use the templates. It is designed to be used when your class is reading a particular book as a class book study. It can be adapted if students are reading their own selections, as well.
These journal entries are best suited for fictional reading, but can be used with nonfiction reading, as well. After students read a chapter, or chapters, they complete the journal entry you have chosen for them, which correlate with the skill you want them to practice. After they have completed the page, they cut it out and glue it into their journal page.
These journal entries include several different reading skills. You can view these different skills and templates on the preview page provided.
