Product Description
This interactive reading journal was designed for my third grade class, but could be used for grades 2 through 6 and possibly above because the skills are similar. I have included basic instructions and class activities, but it is not a full curriculum. It does include many activities, task cards, and worksheets in addition to the notebook anchor charts. It is meant to go with and supplement your classroom instruction. Use your own favorite texts. I have included sample texts to use. These pages are great for lessons you teach, or for reteaching. I think you will find them rigorous enough to prepare for whatever torturous tests your state gives.
These lessons are designed to be put in a journal, but can be adapted in any way. My journals have two parts, a anchor chart/notes section in the front, and a response section for students to write responses and reflections on the literature they have read. The response section can also be used for additional practice on skills.
Though I have included many printables, you could always make your own by just folding paper. I know making copies is sometimes a problem in some schools. I have tried my best to make these lessons helpful, timesaving, and flexible.
