Product Description
Interactive S’more Articulation is a 31-page download that includes activities to practice articulation skills. The interactive activity features 612 marshmallow articulation cards. The following sounds are targeted in the initial and final positions: P, B, M, T, D, F, V, K, G, S, R, Vocalic R, SH, CH, TH, and J. The following blends are targeted in the initial positions: L blends, R blends, and S blends. The packet includes a campfire poster, marshmallow bag covers, 612 marshmallow cards with articulation targets, 30 burnt marshmallow cards, 30 blank marshmallow cards, and 3 s’more sentence strips. One homework sheet is also included. This packet can be used as-is to target speech sound errors or you can make the packet interactive by building a pretend campfire and adding paint stirring sticks.

To play as-is: Laminate all materials. Give each student a marshmallow bag, so the student can put it in front of him and use it as a mat. Put marshmallows with targeted sounds on the picture of the bag. Mix in several burnt marshmallows. Practice the word on the marshmallow he picks from the bag. Use the sentence strip to say, “I ate __.” If he draws a burnt marshmallow, put all the cards into the campfire while practicing, “I burned ___.”

To play interactively: Gather four stirring sticks from the local paint store. Attach soft side of Velcro down one entire side of the stick. Leave room at the end for the student to hold the stick. Make a campfire out of felt, sticks, tissue paper, or empty paper towel tubes. Place the marshmallow bag pictures in the front of a sandwich-sized baggie. They will hold the baggie slightly open, making it easy for the students to reach in and pick a marshmallow. Put hard sided Velcro on the back of all the marshmallows including the burnt ones. Let your student pick 8-10 marshmallows (or however many that will fit on the stick). Use the sentence strips to expand his utterances. After his stick is full, pretend to roast the marshmallows over the fire!
