Interactive Notebooks offer a dynamic to teaching like no other! While it encourages students to take ownership of their learning and find their own unique and meaningful way to process the new information, it changes the way teachers plan and the way homework is assigned.
Teachers are encouraged to use this Teacher Planning Template to:
- help teacher to use the ISN design when planning a lesson
- provide a outline of weekly lesson plans for teacher in a simplistic, 2 page format (front/back)
- provide students guidance when absent from a class
Right-side of notebook is usually reserved for teacher input/guided activities from class. Left-side activities usually entail student input/reflection from class (usually assigned for homework).
*while students usually complete the left-hand side as homework, a teacher can write down suggested activities on the planning page. This can serve as a quick reference for students struggling to decide which format/graphic organizer to use to process the information from class.
