Product Description
I used the short passages from the Texas Treasures Reading Genres Study Guide (pages 22 - 23). After students read these passages of "Hercules and the King," "Paul Bunyan and the Crooked River," "Why Spiders Spin Webs," and "How People Got Stories," they identify the theme, setting, problem, solution, and genre by arranging these cards into columns. I recommend giving these cards to a small group of 4 students to work together. The two genres they identify are myth and folktale.
