This engaging, collaborative assignment lets students create a unique timeline that evaluates the question of who is to blame for causing the War for Independence. Rather than just a timeline, students plot events by creating a line graph tracking tension as well as cause-effect relationships. Students are able to develop historical thinking skills through chronological thinking, analyzing cause-effect relationships, and historical argumentation. This lesson includes a lesson plan, rubric, student directions, and a group reflection sheet.
