This is a GREAT interactive activity to target many goals at the same time. It's perfect for expanding length of utterance, utilizing descriptive attributes and creating complete sentences.
This is a go-to activity for my minimally verbal students! The carrier phrase is an easy way for these students to practice utterances of greater length while focusing on the attribute and object.
This activity can be used with non-verbal students as well because it allows them to choose the picture cards without requiring speech.
**Look for the companion packs to produce 1 attribute + object sentences!
Interactive Vocabulary Expansion: What Do You See (1 attribute)
- 11 question cards for objects for each color (122 total question cards)
- 11 cover pages for each of the color themes including red, yellow, blue, orange, green, purple, pink, gray, brown, black, and white
- 122 answer strips with blanks for color and object cards
- Small answer cards for each object (122) and color (11) to be applied to the answer strips
Print all materials. Cut out the small answer cards and laminate. Present one color set at a time (Question cards, answer strips, small answer pictures for all objects and the color of the set). Once children master each set, mix in multiple colors and allow them to differentiate with the small answer cards.
