Do your students truly understand the writing process? No matter how young or old your students are, you can always teach them about the writing process and help them to become more aware of where they are as they move through this process.
This printable contains visuals that can be used as an interactive chart that takes students through the writing process. You can print out the cards and attach them to one another with rings or just place them on a bulletin board or wall in the order that you would like your students to follow as they work on their writing. You can use clothespins, magnets or another manipulative with your students name on them and the students can then move their name on the visual as they move through the writing process. This system allows for you to hold your students accountable on where they are in the writing process, teaches them to be more aware of what they are working on in their own writing and helps you to know where all of your students are in the writing process at a glance.
