This file contains two real-life application problems with the resulting equation. Students need to find the intercepts and graph the situation AND then explain the meaning of each intercept as it applies to the situation.
The two problems:
A tram going up a mountain.
A pond that is stocked with fish.
Both problems are on one piece of paper, but can easily be cut in half to be given on separate days or to give more work space. This is a great project for partner work.
An answer key is provided.
