Intercultural Competence: Connections between Civil War and Sudanese Civil War

In the lesson, Intercultural Competence: Connections between Civil War and Sudanese Civil War, students will engage in an innovative and critical approach to studying the U.S Civil War by comparing it to the Sudanese Civil War.
1) Develop intercultural competence by exploring similarities and differences between the Sudanese Civil War and the American Civil War.
2) Demonstrate understanding and be able to compare and contrast aspects of the culture, traditions and lifestyles of Sudan and North America.
3) Explore the causes and effects of both wars, and how they have impacted the nations since then.
4) Demonstrate research and presentation skills using multiple media.
