The Interjections Skill Kit, designed for elementary students, takes kids into a magical park, Interjection Park, to show the right way and wrong way to use interjections. It also challenges students to a creative writing project, an improv/charades style activity, and an imaginative inference project.
• Bellringer – Defines the term interjections and asks students to respond to an image with the appropriate interjection.
• Video – In this comical video skit, children enter a magical park that causes them to use the inappropriate interjections in various situations. It’s a hoot!
• PowerPoint – Take a look at various photos. Describe what is likely happening and insert an interjection that fits. Then, students are asked to act out certain interjections.
• Worksheet – Students are challenged to write a story using interjections from various categories.
