Product Description
I always like to start with review. It helps the students tune in to my lessons and gives them confidence. Review the Easy Drum Set Visual first and make sure your students are ready to move to these next two visuals.

Modeling & Guided Practice
Step 1: I asked the students to follow me while I show them the new bass drum beat. I play on the real drums (so they can hear it clearly) and they stomp with the front of their right foot for the bass and tap their leg with their left hand for the snare.

Step 2: Invite a student with mastery on this to demonstrate it on the snare and bass drums. Teacher will play the hi-hat. Pause for a brief moment to ask the students if the hi-hat part is any different than it was on the Easy Drum Set Visual. The answer is no. It is not different.

Step 3: Give the students a minute or two to practice using the visual aid, their hands, and their feet.
NO DRUMS. Watch them as they do it and look for students who mastered this level.

>>>By now students will know that you will invite them to play if they demonstrate the reading of this sheet correctly<<<

Step 4: Invite a few students to play. Allow students to give each other feedback on their performances and help each other master this step.

Step 5: Let the less confident students come to the drum set with a friend. One student will do the bass/snare part and the other will do the hi-hat part.

Step 6: Review the Easy Drum Set Visual. ask the students to compare the two beats. Which one do they like? Why? Which one sounds better? Which one is easier? Step 7: At the end, ask the students to take this home and review it. Ask them to teach one of their family members the Easy Drum Set Visual and this one.
