This product is a continuation of my Basic Music Rhythm Packet that has been on TPT for a few years now. It is filled with more complex rhythms, such as those that use eighth rests, dotted notes, and various sixteenth note patterns. These materials would be of benefit to any band, orchestra, or choir program, especially those with beginner classes and those preparing for sight reading contests.
This packet contains:
*Seven pages of full color instructional materials to be taught from, distributed to students, as well as posted on the wall for display. They are valuable additions to your students’ music binders.
*Seven worksheets that cover more advanced rhythms. The rhythm sheets allow you to teach eighth rests, sixteenth notes, and dotted notes (half, quarter, and eighth) in a logical order. They can be used as tests, group work, or counting and clapping drills.
*Seven 10-page powerpoint presentations that feature the rhythms contained in the rhythm worksheets. Each rhythm line has two slides. One slide shows only the rhythm, and the other slide has the rhythm as well as the corresponding counts underneath. These make it possible for you to go over the rhythm lines measure by measure if you have an annotation device such as a smart board, or you can review the whole line with the included “answer slide”. Note: I have included a couple extra bonus powerpoint presentations for the lines that feature dotted quarter notes. Some slides have arrows to help illustrate that the dotted quarter notes are sustained, however I have included powerpoint presentations that do not have the arrows if that is your preference.
I hope that you find these resources to be as valuable as I have.
If you find this resource useful, please give it four stars!
